Arts Education for People with Disabilities

55% of $5,000 goal
This campaign ended on January 31, 2023, but you can still make a gift to Berklee by clicking here!

The Berklee Institute for Accessible Arts Education is a catalyst for the inclusion of individuals with disabilities in all aspects of visual and performing arts education. We offer arts education programs for people with disabilities, ages 3 to 93. Our music, dance, and theater lessons, ensembles, and classes take place in person on our campus in Boston (for local students), and online over various web conferencing platforms (for students all over the world). We serve about 300 individuals every week in these programs. Our team of highly qualified instructors provides exceptional arts education opportunities to our students.

In this campaign, we are raising funds for tuition assistance for our arts education programs. Students and families must pay tuition in order to participate in these initiatives. To keep the programs affordable, we have set the tuition levels fairly low. However, families that include a person with a disability often incur additional expenses for therapies and other support systems and materials. Therefore, some families require financial assistance in order to participate in our arts education programs. We provide tuition assistance to families who demonstrate financial need, based on a simple application. In order to provide this financial assistance, we must raise the tuition assistance funds every year. We are proud that we have never turned away a family from our programs because they could not afford the tuition. However, our programs are growing, and as they grow, our need for tuition assistance funding increases as well. We want to continue to meet the needs of every family who requires financial assistance, but, in order to do this, we must raise additional funds.

Your gift will go directly to support tuition assistance for our students and their families so that they can participate in our arts education programs. Your support will make it possible for students with disabilities who otherwise could not afford the tuition to gain access to arts experiences and an arts education. It also will make it possible for us to continue to meet the financial need of every family who requires assistance. Please donate to this campaign to support our students and their families, and share the campaign with your friends, family, and networks.
