The Claire Daly Legacy Scholarship at Berklee College of Music honors the musical contributions of Claire Daly B.M. ’80 (1958-2024) as a master of the baritone saxophone. Claire was an inspiring educator, a prolific recording artist, a trailblazing bandleader and collaborator, a celebrated composer, and a proud alumna of Berklee.
Once funded, The Claire Daly Legacy Scholarship will be awarded annually, each spring, in perpetuity to at least one aspiring musician. Not only will the scholarship provide financial support, but it will recognize exceptional musicianship and future artistic excellence. Claire met the challenges of rising as a professional woman baritone saxophonist in an arena historically dominated by men. Awards will be open to all musicians with a preference for women woodwind players. Recipients of the scholarship will be known as The Claire Daly Scholars, a lasting tribute to Claire that will honor her and inspire others for generations to come.
