Berklee City Music enables youth from under-resourced communities to develop musically, academically, socially, and emotionally, primarily through the study of contemporary music and the performing arts.

Founded in the early 1990s as a response to the erosion of arts education in Boston’s public schools, Berklee City Music was created to ensure young people had access to high-quality, culturally relevant music education. That charge continues today, extending beyond Boston to communities across the globe.

Support Berklee City Music Boston Programs

With more than 30 years of music education programming and engagement in the Greater Boston area, Berklee City Music Boston is an out-of-school, student-centered music and performing arts education organization. Our holistic approach develops musicians and artists while also building leaders and fostering community.

By encouraging creativity, collaboration, and connection, we support young people in becoming confident, well-rounded individuals prepared to shape their futures and contribute meaningfully to the world around them.

Support Berklee City Music Summer and College Scholarships

Berklee City Music offers two scholarship pathways to Berklee programs.

The City Music Summer Scholarship provides tuition support to attend Berklee’s Aspire: Five-Week Music Performance Intensive.

The City Music College Scholarship, available to eligible high school seniors, is a highly competitive, merit- and need-based partial or full-tuition scholarship to Berklee College of Music.

Since its inception, Berklee City Music has awarded scholarships to more than 2,000 students to attend the Five-Week program, as well as hundreds of partial- and full-tuition scholarships to Berklee College of Music.
